Coconut Rice (Nasi Lemak) in Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore are common. In Malaysia, the popular favorite of all ethnic groups, it has been regarded as Malaysia's national meat dish.

The name of this food from its cooking process, that is, the rice and then soaked in thick coconut milk rice with coconut milk mixture to take it steamed. Sometimes, in the cooking process to a knot of pandan leaves into the rice and add flavor. When necessary, may add other spices such as ginger and lemongrass to give additional flavor.

Traditionally, a plate of coconut rice and a slice of cucumber, sweet dream fish, fragrant roasted peanuts, boiled spinach, boiled egg and Sambal. Simple ingredients, fragrant rice, highlighting the unique flavor of Southeast Asia.

Coconut milk rice is traditionally eaten for breakfast, it started to roadside stalls selling early in the morning, usually by newspaper, mahjong paper or wrapped in banana leaves to sell. Also it served in some restaurants for lunch or supper dish taken, the achievements of its reputation as a brother in Malaysia food.
